Meat based diets

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29840448

A very interesting article about how eating red meat increases heart disease and cancer. It seems to be true, yet who are those that are disputing the findings? Why yes, The National Pork Board and National Cattlemen's Beef Association. And why wouldn't they? It is not in their best interest to accept these findings. They would want people to eat more meat. I find it hard to believe these association's arguments since they have an alterior motive. They would be better off trying to get research that disproves rather than just saying it's not true. Sure, the studies might be truly based off those who make meat their main meal for every meal, but that doesn't discount the fact that meat can do a number on your health. Either way, the meat market probably will go un-effected so I don't know why they're worrying about it. Culture has to change before the associations will see any difference in meat sales.
